Andrea Lawrence stood up and looked around her. She was in such an odd place. Bright colors danced around the little island she was on. The rocks almost seemed to smile at her and the sand seemed to be humming. The last thing she remembered was that she had been walking through the park. She stopped to read a posted sign, when a shiny little trinket lying in the grass caught her eye. She bent down to pick it up, but it moved away from her fingers. She kept chasing after it, curiosity getting the better of her. She grabbed it up, and as she did so, she toppled over into a hole in the ground. The next thing she knew, she was on a little beach.
Andy walked around a bit. She was just a little bit chilly, all she was wearing were her short black running shorts and a light blue t-shirt that had 'Starstrukk' on the front. Her shoes were just normal Nike running shoes. Her long blond hair was thrown up in a ponytail. She was slender and somewhat tall, but not gangly. Andy saw something moving around about thirty yards in front of her. She jogged over and saw some peculiar looking animals running around in a circle.
"What's going on?" she asked out loud. "Run, run, run! Must get dry!" said a little animal.
All of a sudden a wave came and splashed straight onto the animals and Andrea. The water only got the bottom half of her wet. She was quite angry when she walked further up the beach to avoid being slammed with water again. She looked back at the scene she had just abandoned and watched. Little beings were running around in a circle to make themselves dry, but a wave would just come by and get them completely soaked again. It was a never ending cycle. She thought for a moment, Could it be? Could this be Wonderland? The Caucus Race..I remember that from the book. Running, running but never becoming dry. Andy smiled to herself. This really was Wonderland. She continued to walk along the beach, steering clear of the waves, hoping someone would find her and show her the rest of Wonderland.

"Well, you look lost," the Knave of Hearts said as he noticed the girl wandering around the beach. He simply couldn't bear to see a pretty girl in need of assistance...so he took it upon himself to help anyone like that whom he happened to see. "Perhaps I can help you," he said with a slight bow. "I know my way around Wonderland better than anyone else! After all, how could anyone else know my way?" He paused for a moment, having already forgotten what he was talking about. "Um...yes, I can help you...Unless, of course, you're trying to get back to where you came from," he said, trying to keep his thoughts together. "The Joker's in charge of when people can come and go, after all. I never liked him much...Oh! How rude of me! I haven't even introduced myself! I am the Knave of Hearts, but most people--and some animals-- call me Jack."

Andrea had heard a voice behind her, and turned to see a dashing young man talking to her. He was rambling on about the way and his way. She wasn't really listening. She was just glad to be in the presence of another human. She snapped back when he said about trying to get back to where she came from.
"Oh I knew I was in Wonderland!" Andrea said with a giggle. She couldn't believe she was really here. "It's nothing I imagined it would be. It's- it's. Well it's kind of sad looking." she stated, looking around at the world she was in. "I'm so sorry, my name is Andrea..or Andy if you prefer." she smiled sweetly and gave a little curtsey.
"I don't want to go home, Jack, but I would rather not be here if I'm not supposed to be." she was confused on why the Joker controlled who came and left Wonderland, "How does one know if one is allowed to be in Wonderland, anyway?"

"Well, if you're here, it's either because the Joker decided to bring you here, or maybe you just fell down a rabbit hole," the Knave said, knowing full well how vague his response was. He found this girl very interesting; she was one of the only people from the human world he'd ever met that actually knew Wonderland beyond the inaccurate depiction of it that was given in this thing called a "Disney film." "Anyway, if you don't want to stay in this exact spot--and I wouldn't if I were you, the Mock Turtle and the others are having another race--I can show you around. I highly recommend the Hedge Maze or the Rose Garden...Of course, there's a lot more to see here too..." he trailed off, almost forgetting that Andrea was still there.

Andy just looked at him. "You know. I think I did fall down a rabbit hole. I..I was just walking around," she explained, "when I found something shiny on the ground. I bent down to pick it up, but the ground basically opened up and swallowed me. When I woke up, I was here."
She looked at Jack, a bit bewildered, "Will you show me all around Wonderland? I feel like I'm missing some information about it. I read the book and saw a movie, but I have an endangering feeling that not too much in either of those sources contains much truth."
She remembered herself and smiled at Jack, "It would be a great honor if such a fine looking man showed me around Wonderland." she curtsyed once again.
Andrea wasn't sure where she was going, but she wanted to see Wonderland. She wanted to know all the mysteries and secrets this new world had to offer. She wanted to know who the Joker was, what happened to the Queen of Hearts and she definately wanted to meet the Tweedle Twins. She figured Jack would be the one to show and tell her everything she wanted to know.

"Well...Okay, but only because you're kind of cute," Jack said with a smirk, unable to resist his instinct to flirt with every being of the opposite gender he happened to meet. "And...Well, actually, I guess there's not much to see here after all...unless you like watching caucus races." He walked around in a circle, trying to think of where to take the girl. She was probably the most attractive human he'd ever met, other than the legendary Alice, and he didn't want to disappoint her. "Well, we could see the Hedge Maze...maybe the Rose garden, if you don't mind the Joker's questionable taste in flowers," he said, remembering how the Joker had all the roses painted black, much to the Knave's displeasure. He went on to list many parts of Wonderland, making sure not to mention the Tulgey Wood; it wouldn't do at all to have the March Hare stealing Andrea from him. "Oh, and here. You simply must try one," he said, offering Andrea one of the tarts he'd stolen from the Queen of Hearts. He didn't really like the tarts as much as he liked messing with the Queen, so he didn't mind giving them away.

Andrea blushed when Jack called her cute, "I would love for you to show me around. The Rose Garden sounds delightful, but what do you mean, 'the Joker's taste in flowers'? He didn't destroy the garden did he?"
Andrea took the tart Jack was holding out for her and stated jokingly, "The Knave of Hearts, he stole the tarts and took them clean away." she giggled slightly at her own joke. "Sorry, I couldn't resist it." She looked at the man and found something curious about him, he was a tad older than she, but his face was pleasant to look at.
"Jack, if you prefer, you can call me Andy. I would like to explore the Tugley Wood and possibly the Caterpillar's Mushroom. It's so interesting to be in Wonderland." Andy thought for a moment. Jack kept talking about a Joker, she wanted to know more, "Who is this Joker you keep speaking about, though? It seems like he must be rather important for you to keep mentioning him."
She looked around and noticed that this Wonderland wasn't as bright and great as she had imagined it, "Jack, what happened to Wonderland? Who is the Joker?" she asked curiously.

"The Joker is..." Jack started, unsure of how to properly describe him, "quite possibly the worst thing to ever happen to Wonderland." He paused for a moment, getting angry for the first time in years. "He just sort of took over one day, and while Wonderland was never quite the bright and childish fantasy most humans think it is, it's hard for the place to get farther from that ideal than it is now." He instinctively drew his dagger and in his fury struck a nearby tree-like plant that didn't really have a name. The Joker was the only person Jack had ever truly hated, and actually talking about him made him simply furious. "Anyway...I believe you wanted me to show you around?" he said, returning the dagger to its place, concealed in his sleeve. 'Damn...had to be the Tulgey Wood...' he thought as he led Andrea toward the forest. Oh well, he hadn't seen the March Hare for a while, maybe he wouldn't show up until after Andrea and the Knave had passed through.

Jacks sudden outburst made Andy jump slightly. She didn't want to show any fear, because fear was weakness. "Well, I can see that the Joker isn't a very good guy." she whispered. "Is there anyone who can take him over? Like, overthow him?"
She followed Jack toward the Tugley Wood, picking up that he didn't really want to go there.
"Are you afraid of the Wood?" she asked him outright. "I used to be scared of the woods when I was younger, but then I realized there really was nothing to be afraid of." she rambled on because truly, deep down, she was afraid to go into the Tugley Wood.
Something didn't seem right about it. It looked so much different than she imagined it. She didn't want to show her fear though, fear was not something she was good at and she definately didn't want such a good looking man knowing she was fearful of a couple trees.
