Rarely did the Six of Diamonds leave the castle grounds.
Still, she had seen several cards flee when the Joker first began to appear. As soon as some of them were no longer needed, there was a flurry of activity about. Some had left, and some, like her, had remained to be faithful to their precious queen. Cards ran errands. Cards were practically servants. She knew she would be needed, despite the fact that she disliked the changes made to Wonderland. After all, her family of diamonds was leaving and splitting up. Her queen was no longer the complete dominator of her world. She was faithful, however angry she was at the humans, to the crown. She would never run.
Today, however, was an exception.
"Oh, dear," she said softly as she clung to the edge of a large mushroom to keep herself upright. Her knees were bent as she tried not to slide onto the ground and ruin her corduroy pants. This silly human form! She still hadn't gotten all of the coordination down, and she had easily stumbled over a few uplifted roots. She pushed a curl from her face as she looked around, as if looking to see if anyone had seen her fall. Sometimes the plants could be very rude, but she couldn't hear their laughter today. "That was a very close call, very close."
"Oh, my." Six was whispering to herself again as she finally straightened up and regained her composure. She ran a pale hand over the edge of the mushroom, taking a few steps. She wasn't exactly sure where she was, but she did recall the way she had wandered. Not that it would make any difference here, but it didn't seem to concern her that her path may have to change on her way back to the castle. She smiled faintly as she peered at the mushroom, finally deciding to climb on top. She tucked her fingers around the edges, slowly trying to pull herself up. "Oh, oh my, this is..."
She was interrupted as she slid off the edge of the mushroom, landing on the ground.
"Not going to work. Not at all."
The Six of Diamonds scowled, crossing her arms as she sat cross-legged in the dirt.

She had started following her some time ago. Now, it wasn't as if she was stalking her. No, stalking was for prey. Stalking was fueled by malice. No. Dinah was simply linger, ducking behind tree trunks in an attempt to admire her beauty further. Dinah peeked around the edge of her newest hiding place, her fingers holding onto the security of the tree-trunk in front of her to keep from trembling. The kitten almost cried out at she watched the fair, fragile, fashionably feminine form before her tremble mildly, she even crept forward a few inches- tempted to rush forward and attempt to assist the lovely mistress before her. And yet, she was transfixed, her feet anchored to the ground as she watched her move once more. Eyelashes fluttering, batting a way a few stray particles that were lit by the sun, which lingered over-head, casting light and shadow alike. Her lips were moving, yet, Dinah wasn't graced with the sound of her voice. Perhaps sirens could only sing, and enchant, and not speak. She inched forward, slowly. And the frail form before her turned. Dinah moved forward once more, now slightly more bold that she was not faced with such a beautiful face. She could now hear her for, for this beautiful woman did indeed have a voice. She seemed to be attempting to haul herself up and onto the mushroom. Scurrying forward, intending to offer her own form as a stepping-stool, Dinah suddenly froze as the beauty whipped around, before collapsing into the dirt.
"Oh no!" Dinah murmured, "Don't give up, beautiful one." She said, brows dipping sympathetically. "You can do it!" She said, inching forward nervously. "I can assist you, you...you could...you could step onto my shoulders." the Cat promised, gazing earnestly at the woman before her.

"As entertaining as that would be," the Knave said, appearing suddenly as if from nowhere, "I believe it is the role of the gentleman to come to the assistance of a lady." He offered a hand to help the clumsy card up. Of course, most people in Wonderland would be just as likely to push someone down as to help them up, but the Knave of Hearts sincerely felt that he should help those in need...as long as it was someone he liked. Particularly a pretty girl.

"Oh-oh, my."
The words were soft as she was suddenly joined by another female figure. The young woman had a very cat-like form to her features, making her appear exotic and beautiful. She had never met her before, but there was something incredibly welcoming about the way she spoke. The Six of Diamonds found herself caught in a peculiar situation, and she frantically shook her head, appearing nervous. Her hands cupped together as her eyes widened with a large sense of amazement. "Oh, no, I couldn't burden you with such a task! Surely my climbing of the mushroom is not something that requires you to stop what you were doing. I-I could not ask for that!"
At the appearance of the Knave, the female card's cheeks took on a slightly red hue. How many had seen her fall? She hadn't thought to attract the attention of multiple people, thought she figured that being around others would be convenient when it came time for her to retrace her steps back to the castle. It had been a silly action to attempt to climb up the mushroom, she realized, and almost regretted it. She wasn't sure why she had desired to get atop the mushroom, and suddenly felt very childish. She remained sitting for a moment before finally taking his hand and pulling herself up stiffly. "Thank you. I seem to be thanking you quite often." She nodded quickly once more, her red curls bouncing.
She peered at him for a moment, before her gaze slipped once more to the cat. "I-I'm sorry, to both of you. I didn't mean to be a bother. I... I should be keeping better care." She frowned slightly as she glanced down, once more looking rather ashamed of herself. Her fingers interlaced together before she finally looked up. A small smile worked its way on to her face. "Today has been an adventure for me." She spoke as if guilty of something, and she bit her lip.

Dinah's face turned away mildly as she attempted to shield her blush from the woman, pressing her palms against her face. "Nyeh! My dear one, I would do most anything for you!" She said, nodding earnestly as she tip-toed a bit closer to the woman. Her eyes shifting, locking onto the Knave briefly- she offered a smile, before she scurried forward, examining the beautiful woman further. It was like attempting to snag an extra crumpet, without being noticed. But oh my, did she want to get closer to the woman, who seemed to also know Jack. She swallowed, it made her nervous to be so close to her. So close to the Knave. What beautiful creatures this Wonderland had. She clasped her hands nervously behind her, rocking on the balls of her heels as she watched the Knave assist her to her feet. Her fingertips trailed out, tracing above the curvature of the woman's shoulders, admiring the craftsmanship that had been put into the woman before her. Surely, whatever generated their human forms was a kind deity, for the card had the look of an angel. Wasn't it strange? She was seeing angels more and more often. Perhaps, she pondered, I've died.
The beauty was gazing at her once more, and Dinah's eyes widened, her mouth forming a rather comical 'o' as she realized that she had, in fact, been staring. Ducking her head briefly, the cat swayed timidly for a moment before making a noise of disapproval. "It isn't your fault at all!" She cried out, clutching her hands to chest, as if the idea of the woman being to blame hurt her. "I've been following you!" Dinah said, anything to keep the woman from blaming herself. "I...I was transfixed, and I thought that you were perhaps a siren!" She was speaking faster now, growing more nervous as she stepped closer, claiming Six's hand gently. "But...but..you're not, and yet..my heart is still speeding!" She pressed the woman's palm to her chest gingerly. "Isn't yours, Jack?" She asked, looking to the other card for support.
