She was lost. Lost, lost, lost. Ever, ever, ever so lost, lost, lost. Dinah made a face, looking over her shoulder for the fifth time within three minutes. She knew that it wasn't late, but somehow it was so dark. And...she slowly realized, it was raining. From the canopy of dark leaves above, a few droplets shattered upon her shoulders, drawing a yelp from the woman below. She shivered, though, she wasn't particularly cold. Why was it that she enjoyed getting lost? It was because eventually she was getting found. Dinah shoved a hand back through her violently colored mane of hair, pushing a few rebel tresses from her vision. Stepping carefully over a few bright toadstools, she allowed her nails to trace the patterns in her dress, anything to distract herself. Dinah swung her arms in a carefree manner, though her brows had dipped and she had a curious expression on her face- something torn between concern and that carelessness.
Everything had been fine. Dinah hadn't minded the thought of being permanently lost and never, ever found. That is, until she heard something. Not just any something. But a terrifying, loud, booming something that made several more droplets drop onto her up-turned face. And all at once, she was running, darting here and there. Anything to avoid hearing that noise again, perhaps she could outrun it. Could one outrun thunder? Well, Dinah surely planned to try. That is, until, she was found. Or rather, she found it. It was a big, looming mushroom, big enough for the cat to duck under, breathing hard as she glanced around, before hugging the base of her toadstool friend. "Thank you, Mushroom. You have saved me."

"She has to be here somewhere!" Cheshire said, scratching his head, one hand on his hip, as he looked around. "Now, where did that human go?" He'd caught sight of a flame haired human not too long ago, and had tried to follow her, since he'd known she saw him. The fact that she had a dog with her had been a bit disconcerting, but it had been days since he'd seen another human. And so he searched. He searched until it grew dark, though he really didn't notice the difference until he got hit in the nose with a rain drop. "Damn," He muttered, wiping it away as he got hit in the face with another. It was only moments later that he heard thunder, and he started for his home, though he knew he'd never make it.
Alas, it started to poor before he got halfway out of Tulgey Wood. Grumbling, he slowed to a walk, knowing it was no use running home. A couple more minutes wouldn't make him any more wet. It was then that he saw, out of the corner of his eye, a flash of red. Cheshire turned, grinning when he saw a red haired girl sitting under a mushroom. His decision wasn't hard. The man changed direction, but as he got closer and could see her better, he could tell she wasn't human. Much to feline. Nonetheless, he didn't know her, and that couldn't be permitted, so he ducked under the mushroom with her, trying to shake off some of the water.
"Hello there," he said, grinning his famous grin as he shrugged off his jean jacked and wringed the water out of his shirt. "Lovely day for a walk, isn't it?" Cheshire then proceeded to try squeezing some of the water out of his hair. "I don't believe I've met you before. I'm Cheshire." He grinned at her again. "Hope you don't mind me sharing your mushroom."

It was some sum of time that Dinah rested beneath that toadstool, waiting ever so patiently for the rain to stop, and for the thunder to go away- but alas, she was not rewarded for some time. Instead, she found various ways in which to entertain herself. Humming lightly, she became entranced by a lovely little moth scurrying about the under-belly of her shelter. "Why, hello." She announced, reaching out a hand to allow the nocturnal beauty to latch onto it. Its legs were long, and stuck to her flesh with ease. It seemed to change colors just about as rapidly as it moved, and Dinah found herself utterly amused by the tickling of its little feet. It was large, nearly as big as her hands, and for some time- he was her only companion- that is, until another, much larger form ducked under the mushroom.
Her eyes widened slightly, and she allowed the moth to ascend onto her shoulder. "My, what a handsome smile you have!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands together. It seemed, almost, familiar. Tilting her head and gazing out at the rain, she shook her head. "No, not really." She said, before realizing that perhaps he had been making a joke- at which time, she smiled, bashfully. "No, I don't believe we have either, I'm Dinah." She replied, though, she knew that hadn't. She would have remembered his smile, one didn't forget things like that. "Of course not!" Dinah beamed, "I'm sorry that I can't offer you anything to drink!" She giggled.

His grin grew wider. "Why thank you very much. Did you know, I'm rather famous for my smile?' He picked up his jean jacket, grimacing at it, before starting to wring the water out of it. "Dinah. What a lovely name!" He smiled at her, yellow eyes lighting up.
A laugh slipped out when she giggled. "Why offer something to drink? All you have to do is step away from the mushroom, lean back, and open your mouth! Nature's drink!" He laughed again, turning his attention back to the jean jacket he was unsuccessfully trying to salvage. With a sigh, he put it back on, thinking that this was the best he'd get.
Turning back to Dinah, his eyes narrowed. He leaned close, so they were face to face, his golden eyes looking over her features closely, a loose smile on his lips. After a moment, he asked, "Are you a cat Dinah? For you look an awful lot like one." His ever present tail flicked behind him, it's striped purple color matching his shaggy hair.

Dinah nodded, "Of course, I don't know how you couldn't be~" She offered a smile of her own, tilting her head at his jean jacket. Silly rain, how rude- to ruin his clothing like that! The cat blinked, utterly entranced the beautiful, warm, glowing hue of his irises, and she leaned forward slightly. They were like candles. Like candles inside of jack-o-lanterns. At his idea, Dinah both laugh and shuddered. "But, Cheshire, you would get even wetter!" She announced, before waving a hand at his clothing. "Perhaps I should settle for offering you a seat?" Dinah cooed, running a hand through her damp hair once more.
Watching as he shrugged his jacket, which was still quite soaked, back on- Dinah's eyes softened sympathetically. He must be dreadfully cold, she thought to herself. And all at once, he was so amazingly close that Dinah felt she might faint. Her eyes drifted, as if magnetized, to his smile. "I think so." She said, her voice dropping to a whisper. He was so close. "I might have been once," Dinah leaned closer to him, pale eyes flickering up to meet his gaze. "You're so handsome, I can't bring myself to think of anything else." Though, perhaps, from somebody else it would have been a compliment- Dinah couldn't speak anything more or less than the truth. She exhaled, slowly, wondering if perhaps her breath would hit his face..
